#26: AMY ELIGH: Director of Sync & Creative Services
Welcome back!
Now, if you are from Toronto or are “in the know” about what Bunz is, well, I have to share a little tid bit with you. I was looking for an alternative space to record from and they offered their space to use! So this podcast today was recorded from, yep, the Bunz Headquarters! Thanks Eli Klein, from Bunz, for setting it up!
This episodes we sit down with the Director of Sync and Creative Services at Red Brick Songs and Casablanca Media Publishing. Although the company represents a variety of artists, they have a heavy roster of indie artists.
This episode focuses on the ins and outs of her role. We talk about how to properly pitch songs, how she pairs up artists with writers, pitching and the intricacies involved before and after a pitch and just how important and integral publishing is to the growth and longevity of an artist’s career. We learn that you never know when something you put out there will come back to reward you. She gives a great example of this in our conversation.
I have to admit, her job seems like a lot of fun! There’sthe balance between business and creative, travelling, and always getting to hear new music. I had a great time chatting with Amy, so I hope you enjoy the conversation as well!
Thanks to Long & McQuade for the mic equipment!
