#4: DOUG McCLEMENT Owner of LiveWire Remote Recorders, If you've watched a live-to-air show in

The One Sheet music career advice with: Doug McClement of LiveWire Remote Recorders

Our next interviewee, I can guarantee, you have all been witness to his work.

If you've ever watched the MMVA's, JUNO awards, Grey Cup, Much Music, or basically anything broadcast live-to-air, there's a very good chance Doug was the guy making it sound fantastic for all of you viewers.

From his humble beginnings in Kingston, Ontario, recording any and every live show he could, sometimes with only a little tape recorder; to building a studio and then making it mobile he has some epic stories that I can guarantee anyone listening will be interested to hear!

He is a capsule of music history in Toronto and we get a snapshot of that in this conversation.

We know this is a longer episode, and thought of maybe cutting it short, but, there are just so many good stories we decided to keep it as is. It's worth the full listen through. Trust us.

A cool little extra tid-bit about this interview: we recorded inside of the LiveWire truck.... which is basically a portable recording studio (the picture to your right is him inside).

In this conversation, we discuss how he got to where he is, we talk about some of the equipment he uses, some mistakes to be aware of and advice for if you're looking to pursue a career on the sound and recording side, what REALLY happens behind the scenes during live-to-air-shows, some snippits of what he teaches at the Harris Institute, and, for everyone, some pretty cool stories along the way.

Did I mention I grew up in Kingston too? So there may be a bit of reminiscing in the episode. Enjoy!
