#24: CORY BALASH: Music Director - Curating Radio's Playlist
Cory has worked across major media companies stations across the country. These include The Bounce, Q99, Virgin Radio and currently, The Move, a 90’s and early 00’s throwback station (that I love!).
We get an insight into the whole process, the ins and outs of how songs get on radio and how the stations playlist is curated, from deciding on submissions that come in, to, once it’s in, how it moves between low, medium and high rotation. There’s a lot of things that I didn’t about that go on behind the scenes at a radio station, so I learned a lot in this and I think you will too!
We also hear about what a “typical day” might look like for him, as well as his why he went from pursuing a career in automotive mechanics and mechanical engineering to getting into radio, working his way up to where he is at today.
