BONUsode! The Road to Vans Warped Tour & The Lemmon Stage

Hello! You're probably wondering why we're posting an episode off of the regular schedule! Well, we're starting an additional element to The One Sheet, where, every so often, we'll post a bonus episode, or "Bonusode", highlighting some unique aspects and happenings in the music world. It could be an interesting initiative, accomplishment or even a special skill that someone has that, overall, adds to making this industry even greater.
For the very first Bonusode, we're talking about Vans Warped Tour, or more specifically, The Road to Warped Tour. Every year, there is an initiative started by Jessica Lemmon (from Episode 9!) of Lemmon Entertainment, where developing bands have a chance to perform on THE Warped Tour!
She has a stage, called The Lemmon Stage, each year, and the performers on this stage are chosen through a competition. It continue's to grow, this year, having a battle-of-the-bands in both Halifax and Toronto, with the aim to expand even more in years to come.
I thought it was a really great concept so jumped on a Skype call with some of the Lemmon Staff as well as one of the previously winning bands who played the Warped Tour stage before, Red Handed Denial.
There is information in this bonusode for bands as well as people interested in the business side. The the aim of these new, random releases, is to provide another way to get inspired and think outside of the box at what you can create for yourselves.
